It has been more than a year since I entered the product pit, and it is necessary to write something. It's really necessary to write something (to borrow Mr. Lu Xun's technique~) After continuous practice, it is generally the following four aspects:
1. Demand management
According to my clinical experience of more than 1 year and nearly 2 years, although the qualifications are not enough, there is not much or not, and I have learned something~
I believe that when all new product people first enter the industry, the most exposed industry concept is "demand". Of course, I am no exception. I also started from demand, and now I lead a team to do projects, and I handle products from 0 to online. in every aspect.
1. Requirements gathering
In fact, at the beginning, most of your bosses will ask you to follow up on some functional optimization needs, because it only requires you Latest Mailing Database to follow up on functional optimization points based on understanding the business, and it is almost no difficulty. At this stage, I still don't know how to tap the demand.
When you have been with the requirements for a while, your question will come, why do you want to optimize like this? Who mentioned optimization? What impact does this optimization have on something... That is, the 5W+1H principle of demand analysis that product people often talk about.
After crossing this stage, it is time to collect requirements. Requirements gathering is nothing more than 3 sources, 3 ways:
source of demand
Relevant business departments of the company (marketing, operation, sales, customer service, etc.)
The product manager/boss creates demand (this requires the product manager to have high product quality)
PS: Mr. Qiao once said: People don't know what they want until you show it to them" (before you take things out, users don't know what they want at all). The predecessors left a message, sometimes, We need to create demand. But there is only one Jobs in the world, so let's keep our feet on the ground and look up to the big guys~
User research/feedback: questionnaires, user interviews, information collection (including staff)
The idea from the boss (the boss makes decisions based on his acumen to the market)
Product data analysis: functional data, market data, competitive product analysis data
At the stage of developing a product from scratch, the source of demand is mostly obtained by the product manager/boss through data analysis. In the implementation stage of the project, most of the demand sources are obtained from user research/feedback. After the project has been running for several months, user feedback and data analysis have become the main collection methods.
2. Demand analysis
Demand analysis, with a classic philosophical saying: Where does it come from? Where are you going? This sentence is more suitable for needs analysis. To extend, it is the 5W+1H principle of demand analysis:
what: what is the need?
who: Who proposed it?
why: Why do you need to do this?
where: In what scenarios is this requirement?
when: When does this requirement need to be used in this scenario?
how: how to do this requirement?
Sometimes, the needs of users are not very straightforward to tell you. For example, in the process of dating a boy, a girl took the color test picture of a beauty blogger one day and said to the other party: Look at her, she looks really good in this color. At this time, the reaction of the straight man of steel and the lover was completely different.
Straight man: I think it's all the same, they're all red, with a black question mark face; Lover: It's really good-looking, and it suits you very well (i
